Reece Curtis-Walwyn is a young designer from London who graduated from Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, with a BA Fashion Hons degree. She has won awards such as Lewisham and Deptford sewing machine award, Young designer to watch (2013) , Winner of Own Label Graduate Fashion (2013) competition and featured on Alternative Fashion Week (2014) . Throughout Reece’s collection Venter Deform the journey of the inspiration was taken from a two pound motto ‘Standing on the shoulders of giants’. Which lead my research into a documentary called Nina Conti – A ventriloquist’s story: Her Master’s Voice, while discovering theory and methods behind ventriloquism. As well as influences from contortionism and understand the body and how it can portray certain shapes in certain positions. All sources will be combine to create a Womenswear range with structured tailored garments with a twist.
